Off-Grid Solar for Oklahoma
Complete energy independence. No utility bill. No grid connection. Solar panels, battery storage and inverters designed for properties beyond the power lines.
Who It's For
Built for properties off the beaten path
Rural Homes
Properties where running utility lines would cost tens of thousands of dollars. Off-grid solar pays for itself faster than a grid connection in many rural Oklahoma locations.
Cabins and Retreats
Weekend getaways, hunting cabins and lake properties. Systems sized to match your usage patterns, whether you're there full-time or just on weekends.
Farms and Ranches
Power for barns, workshops, irrigation pumps and outbuildings. Off-grid solar eliminates the cost of running lines across large properties.
Our Equipment
Powered by EG4
We build our off-grid systems around EG4 Electronics. Their inverters and batteries are purpose-built for off-grid applications. Not adapted from grid-tied products. Designed from the ground up for standalone power.
Every battery in the lineup uses LiFePO4 chemistry at 48V/51.2V. That means longer cycle life, better performance in extreme temperatures and no thermal runaway risk. The self-heating feature on the PowerPro 280Ah keeps the batteries operational through Oklahoma winters without external heating equipment. See our battery storage page for the full lineup including Tesla Powerwall and FranklinWH options.
EG4 delivers the lowest cost per kilowatt-hour of any battery brand we install. For off-grid builds where you need serious storage capacity, that cost difference adds up fast.
Components
What goes into your system
Inverters
EG4 6000XP and 12000XP inverter/chargers handle the conversion from DC solar and battery power to AC for your home. They support split-phase 120/240V output for full-size appliances, well pumps and HVAC systems.
- ✓ 6000XP: 6,000W continuous, ideal for cabins and smaller homes
- ✓ 12000XP: 12,000W continuous, full-size homes and heavy loads
- ✓ Stackable for larger systems
- ✓ Built-in MPPT solar charge controller
Batteries
Three battery options depending on your capacity needs and installation environment. All use LiFePO4 chemistry with 10-year warranties.
- ✓ WallMount 314Ah: 16 kWh, 10,000+ cycles, indoor or outdoor
- ✓ PowerPro 280Ah: 14.3 kWh, IP65 outdoor rated, self-heating
- ✓ LifePower4 v2: 5.12 kWh rack units, stackable up to 64 units
Solar Panels
440W Tier 1 panels with 21%+ efficiency. Sized to match your daily energy consumption plus a buffer for cloudy days and seasonal variation. See our solar panels page for full specs.
- ✓ Ground mount or roof mount options
- ✓ Hail rated for Oklahoma weather
- ✓ 25-year manufacturer warranty
Generator Integration
For extended cloudy periods or heavy seasonal loads, we can integrate a backup generator into your off-grid system. The inverter starts the generator automatically when battery levels drop and stops it when batteries are charged.
- ✓ Auto-start and auto-stop
- ✓ Charges batteries while powering loads
- ✓ Propane or diesel options
System Design
How we size your system
Energy audit
We start with your actual energy needs. Every appliance, every light, every well pump. Off-grid systems have no utility to fall back on, so accurate load calculation is critical.
Solar production modeling
We model solar production for your specific location using Oklahoma weather data. The system is sized for your lowest-production months, not your best. That way you have enough power year-round.
Battery bank sizing
We calculate how many days of autonomy you need. Most systems are designed for 2 to 3 days of cloudy weather without generator backup. More if you want to run purely on solar.
Install and commission
Our crew handles everything: panel mounting, battery installation, inverter wiring, generator integration and system commissioning. We test every circuit before we leave.
Comparison
Off-grid vs grid-tied
| Feature | Off-Grid | Grid-Tied |
|---|---|---|
| Utility bill | None | Reduced (net metering credits) |
| Battery required | Yes (mandatory) | Optional (for backup) |
| Grid outage impact | No impact | Loses power (unless battery backup) |
| System size | Larger (must cover 100% of load) | Can be smaller (grid supplements) |
| Upfront cost | Higher | Lower |
| Monthly cost | $0 | Reduced utility bill |
| Best for | Rural, no grid access, full independence | Urban/suburban, reduce utility costs |
Oklahoma Specific
Built for Oklahoma conditions
235 sunny days per year
Oklahoma averages about 3,090 sunshine hours per year. That is well above the national average and makes the state one of the better locations in the country for solar energy production.
Storm-ready design
Our systems are designed for Oklahoma weather. Hail-rated panels, outdoor-rated batteries with self-heating for winter and generator integration for extended cloudy periods during storm season.
No utility required
Running utility lines to a rural Oklahoma property can cost $15,000 to $50,000 or more depending on distance. An off-grid solar system often costs less than the grid connection itself and eliminates the monthly bill permanently.
